Get ready to turn Crook and beyond into a sea of green! The Listening Post (TLP) is excited to announce our participation in Wear It Green Day, a fantastic initiative by the Mental Health Foundation to raise awareness and funds for mental health during Mental Health Awareness Week. MHAW takes place from 12th to the 18th of May 2025, and the theme is 'Community'.
What is Wear It Green Day?
Wear It Green Day is a fun and easy way to show your support for mental health awareness. By simply wearing green, you can help spark conversations, challenge stigma, and raise vital funds for the Mental Health Foundation's important work. The Mental Health Foundation works to prevent mental health problems. Helping people understand, protect and sustain their mental health. They drive change towards a mentally healthy society for all, and support communities, families and individuals, with a particular focus on those at greatest risk.

TLP Goes Green!
Here at TLP, we're passionate about mental wellbeing, and we're excited to get involved. We're planning a range of activities for Wear It Green Day, and we'd love for you to join us! Here are some ideas we're considering:
- Green-Themed Workshops: We could host special online Listening Post workshops focusing on mental health and wellbeing, all with a green theme, of course!
- Wear It Green at the Crook Community Centre: For those who prefer to participate in person, we'll be encouraging everyone at the Crook Community Centre to wear green and perhaps even have a green-themed bake sale or raffle.
- Digital Green Wave: Let's flood social media with green! We'll be encouraging everyone to share their green outfits and messages of support online, using a special TLP hashtag.
- Partnering with Local Businesses: We could team up with local businesses to promote Wear It Green Day and raise funds together.
Your Ideas Needed!
We want to make this Wear It Green Day the best it can be, and that's where you come in! We'd love to hear your suggestions for how TLP and the community can get involved.
